Which Fortnite skins are the best? 2022 top 20 list

Most popular fortnite skins

Since inception, several outfits have been introduced to the Fortnite Item Shop and Battle Passes, but we’re going to take a look back at the finest Fortnite skins ever published as of 2022.

Aside from the suspenseful showdowns towards the finish of a battle, one of the most exciting aspects of Fortnite is the release of new skins and cosmetics to the game. Some of these may be bought, while others can only be unlocked by completing tasks and collecting XP.

They may not provide you with a competitive edge (unless you were previously wearing the infamous superhero skin), but obtaining the coolest skins in Fortnite offers you bragging rights among your friends and other players.

Besides, what’s the point of celebrating those hard-earned Victory Royale victories if you don’t have a nice skin to show off?

From iconic crossover skins like Marvel’s Scarlet Witch and Halo’s Master Chief to originals like the banana-human hybrid Peely and even Agent Jonesy himself, everyone has a go-to skin.

We explored the Fortnite archives to compile a list of 20 of the finest skins to grace the game since its inception in 2017. Some of these may eventually return to the item store, so keep a look out for them.

Are there any Marvel superheroes more popular right now than Deadpool? He was resigned to being a favorite of comic book fans until the smash 2016 film, but now that he’s gained mainstream fame, the whole globe has fallen for the wise-cracking’merc with a tongue.’

He was added as a challenge prize in Chapter 2 Season 2, and we can understand why; being one of the few Marvel heroes who would really employ an assault weapon or a rocket launcher in his own movies and books, he’s the ideal crossover skin.

Lexa skin

Lexa has been the most popular of the latest unique Fortnite skins. She is often referred to as the franchise’s “anime girl” due to her unusual cel-shaded anime-style design, pink hair, and wide-eyed appearance.

The finest thing about Lexa, though, is the unlocked built-in Hunter Protocol emote, which’sets mechafusion levels to maximum’ and allows users to completely modify her look, transforming her into a robotic hunter.

Joy skin

The Joy skin, based on a design by artist DahjaCat, is one of the most distinctive skins available in Fortnite, since it comes with a built-in emote based on the popular Doja Cat and SZA song, Kiss Me More.

Emotes with famous songs generally cost a lot of V-Bucks, so having one included with a skin is a great deal. Even better, it’s a traversal emote, so you can rollerskate while listening to music.

Spider-Man skin

After months of waiting, Marvel fans finally got their hands on the Fortnite skin of their dreams when Spider-Man emerged in the Chapter 3: Season 1 Battle Pass accompanying a Web-Shooter equipment that enabled players to swing about the Island.

That’s not all, as a Spider-Man modeled on Tom Holland’s Peter Parker from the Marvel Cinematic Universe was introduced in the Item Shop only a few weeks later, providing gamers with several ways to become the legendary superhero.

Marshmello skin

Fortnite memorialized famous DJ Marshmello by hosting a performance presented by the music legend. Ten million people watched, and he even received his own skin with unlocked cosmetics.

Aside from being an incredible skin, Marshmello demonstrated the future of live entertainment, pave the way for rapper Travis Scott to perform his own Fortnite crossover event a year later.

Renegade Raider skin

Okay, so the design isn’t anything exceptional, but what makes Renegade Raider unique is that it was only available as a Battle Pass prize in Chapter 1 Season 1, making it perhaps the rarest skin in the game.

Wearing this during a match makes it evident to other players that you’ve been visiting The Island from the beginning, which merits a particular spot on our list.

Superman skin

While Marvel superheroes tend to take center stage in Fortnite, the anticipation for Superman’s entrance in Chapter 2 Season 7 was palpable – it was teased for weeks before ultimately being published as the season’s Secret Skin.

The Man of Steel includes a built-in emote that allows him to shift from Clark Kent to Superman in-game, something not many skins have, as well as an epic Shadow style that only the most committed players were able to acquire.

Naruto skin

Naruto, the beloved ninja from Konohagakure, was one of the most hyped Fortnite skins of all time. After months of speculation and anticipation, the anime symbol has finally come, complete with matching cosmetics and a throwable Kunai weapon.

Even better, the whole Team 7 – Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi – could be purchased from the in-game store. However, there is only place for one Naruto character on this list, thus it must be the main character himself.

The Mandalorian skin

Following the wonderful Marvel-themed Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4, expectations were high, but the follow-up Season 5 managed to live up to them and more with the debut of Star Wars bounty hunter The Mandalorian.

The additional pieces of armor you could obtain as you advanced through the Battle Pass made this skin even more unique. Oh, and the prize for reaching Level 100? Back bling with a Baby Yoda. It’s magnificent.

Demogorgon skin

The Demogorgon skin from the smash Netflix series Stranger Things may be the most horrifying skin we’ve yet seen in Fortnite. Imagine witnessing this creature emerge from a dark spot on The Island at night. We’d prefer not to.

The Demogorgon is one of those skins that you wouldn’t think would transfer well to the game, yet it does. Special mention should be made to fan-favorite character Chief Hopper, who has his own skin in the game.

Ariana Grande skin

Pop singer Ariana Grande entered the Fortnite universe in 2021, following in the footsteps of other music superstars like as Marshmello and Travis Scott, when she played a virtual performance as part of the show-stopping Rift Tour event.

Fans could buy a skin with several clothes and accompanying cosmetics based on the 7 Rings singer, and the designs are among the greatest we’ve seen in the game to yet. In a subsequent update, Ariana reappeared with even more wardrobe options.

Michonne skin

Michonne from The Walking Dead is one of the most badass characters in television history, so seeing the zombie slayer carry her katana to The Island with Daryl Dixon made perfect sense, despite the unexpected crossover.

The finest thing about the Walking Dead skins was that they were kept completely hidden until they were revealed by surprise at the 2020 Game Awards. Most skins leak ahead of time, but these were a complete surprise.

Skin of Harley Quinn

harley quinn Fortnite

Along with all of the famous Marvel superhero skins, the renowned DC villain Harley Quinn has earned a cult of followers thanks to both her comic book roots and her recent live-action performances in the Suicide Squad films.

Because she’s so famous, it’s uncommon to play a match of Fortnite without seeing a Harley Quinn somewhere on the battlefield. It also helps that there are many costume choices available, allowing you to stand out from the crowd.

Peely skin

We can all agree that it’s a stupid skin. But, whether you like it or not, Peely has become a Fortnite mascot, often being the brunt of jokes and frequently appearing as hidden easter eggs in different areas with each map update.

If you’re wearing Peely or one of the numerous goofy-looking spin-off skins like Agent Peely or P-1000, you’ll be seen from a mile away, but we believe it’s worth it to add some fun to The Island.

Wolverine skin

Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 4 added a slew of Marvel superhero (and villain) skins to the game, including Black Widow and Iron Man, but the apparent standout was Wolverine, the mutant poster boy for the X-Men.

His skin was one of the best-designed crossovers we’ve seen in Fortnite, and he still appears in battles even after the season is finished. There was also a ‘classic’ variation available, but we like the original.

Galaxy skin

The epic Galaxy skin, which was exclusively accessible to players who bought a Galaxy Note 9 or a Galaxy Tab S4, was the most popular result of Fortnite’s cooperation with Samsung.

The skin was so popular that some gamers would go to Samsung shops to log in on one of the devices and attempt to claim it for themselves. Unfortunately, it is no longer available since the skin was vaulted in early 2019.

The Joker skin

Not a Marvel fan? No need to worry, since there are plenty of DC characters (albeit obviously not as many) to be found in Fortnite instead. The Joker, Batman’s archnemesis, stands out above the others.

This widely desired skin will set you back a big cash, since it can only be obtained by buying The Last Laugh Bundle, which costs little under $30. It does, however, have Poison Ivy and Midas Rex, which is excellent.

Midas skin

Midas is one of Fortnite’s best-designed original characters, being simple yet highly desirable. You had to work hard to unlock the leader of the spies, too, as he was the Level 100 reward for Chapter 2 Season 2’s Battle Pass.

The skin has since received several variations like Shadow Midas and Midas Rex, and has become so popular that rumors of more Midas-themed skins coming to the game are always doing the rounds.

Venom skin

When Fortnite revealed that Chapter 2 Season 4’s theme will be Marvel superheroes, many gamers wondered whether a Venom skin would debut in the game. It seemed impossible, yet it occurred.

Of course, the skin is massive, and it did create some vision difficulties while aiming, but it wasn’t enough to turn off gamers who were hoping to see the famous Spider-Man villain. It certainly seems to be epic.

Superhero Skin

The Superhero Skin is one of the most customizable in the game, allowing players to design the superhero of their dreams. In terms of value for money, this may be one of the greatest in the game.

It’s a contentious one, however, since the skin previously received criticism from gamers for being a “pay-to-win” skin: when made all-black, it enabled users to stay concealed in the shadows, but this has since been corrected.

Having said that, it’s absolutely worth including on the list.
